Cobalt satin cowl top with panelled pleated midi skirt
A cobalt satin cowl-neck top over a midi skirt that mixes crinkled blue with knife-pleated chiffon, belted in black leather. Pottery optional.
The top is cobalt satin with a draped cowl neck and cap sleeves cut in one with the body, so it falls from the shoulder in a single fold. Under it, a midi skirt built from panels: a crinkled blue centre in a slightly deeper shade, with knife-pleated chiffon inserts at each side that shift from navy to a pale powder blue as they open. The hem is uneven on purpose and lands at the shin.
A black leather belt with a D-ring, pulled long and left hanging, breaks the blue in two and gives the skirt a waist. Black strappy sandals that lace up the ankle finish it. It is a daytime look for spring into summer, light enough for a hot studio and dressed enough for drinks afterwards.
I went in for a mug. I came out holding a vase I did not need and a skirt that matched the glaze.

styling notes
- Leave the belt end hanging long; it is the only hard line in the look
- Keep the top untucked over the waistband so the cowl drapes

- Bead bracelet and smartwatch, no other jewellery
