Burgundy crepe wrap top and pencil skirt with front slits
A sleeveless burgundy crepe wrap top with black piping and a pointed hem, over a matching pencil skirt split twice at the front. Night market, dusk.
The top is a textured burgundy crepe, sleeveless, wrapped high at the neck so it folds over itself like a scarf and finishes in a long point below the waist. Every edge is bound in black piping, which is what keeps it sharp rather than soft. The skirt is a pencil cut in the same burgundy, high-waisted, with two small cut-outs where the top's point lands and a short slit at each side of the front for walking.
It is a warm-evening outfit, light enough for a night market in the heat and tailored enough for dinner afterwards. Worn with no tights, the smartwatch and the bead bracelet, and whatever shoe the pavement allows. One colour, two pieces, no bag.
The string lights were doing most of the work. I let them.
