Grey puff-sleeve peplum dress with pleated ivory panels

A pale grey satin-crepe dress with short puff sleeves, a folded two-layer peplum and pleated ivory panels edged in black, worn in a sunlit living room.

A pale grey dress in a matte satin crepe, cut with a high round neck, short puff sleeves gathered at the shoulder and a sculpted peplum that folds over the hips in two layers. Pleated ivory crepe panels run from the right shoulder across the bodice and hang over each hip, and a thin black binding edges the peplum, the panels and the sleeve cuffs. Below the peplum the skirt is straight and fitted, finishing past the knee.

It looks like evening and behaves like day: the matte finish keeps it off the red carpet, so it works for a long lunch, a gallery opening or dinner in spring and autumn. A pointed heel, nothing over it, because the sleeves are doing the work of a jacket. No bag; the dress is already carrying enough structure for one person.

Grey is a colour, apparently. I am told this counts as wearing one.
