Terracotta pleated puff-sleeve top with a cream wool skirt
A sunray-pleated terracotta blouse with gathered puff sleeves, tucked into a cream bouclé wrap pencil skirt and cognac boots.
The top is terracotta, pleated in fine sunray pleats that fan from the right shoulder across the body, with an asymmetric neckline and two short puff sleeves gathered into a band above the elbow. The skirt is cream wool bouclé, a straight pencil cut to mid-calf with a wrap panel that folds over the front and ends in a soft curved edge. Cognac leather knee boots with a pointed toe and a slim kitten heel.
The top tucks all the way in so the pleats stay vertical and the skirt keeps its line. It is an autumn look built for travel: a station platform, a day that starts at seven, a coat over it on the train and the sleeves still standing when the coat comes off. Spring works too, with the same boots or a pointed flat.
I was early. The train was not. We both looked good about it.
