Burgundy ribbed velvet one-shoulder top and wrap skirt
Ribbed burgundy velvet in two pieces: a one-shoulder top with a single puff sleeve and a wrap skirt that opens onto satin.
A set in ribbed burgundy velvet, the kind with a raised cord that catches light along every line. The top is one-shoulder, with a single gathered puff sleeve cuffed above the elbow and a short opening at the waist before the skirt starts. The skirt is a knee-length wrap: the velvet folds back over itself at the front and opens onto a panel of matching burgundy satin, so the opening shows shine instead of more pile.
It is a cold-weather daytime set that goes straight to dinner. Low winter sun through a shop window, a long browse, then a table somewhere warm. Wear it with a plain black boot or a pointed pump and keep the bag small and dark. Velvet does the work; nothing else needs texture.
I came in for one book. The velvet decided I was staying for the whole shelf.
