Chain-trim blazer with satin cami and leather trousers

A black wool blazer with a shawl-style lapel and pushed-up sleeves, its edges traced with fine gold chains that drape in loops along the lapels and over the pocket flaps. Under it a black satin cami with a soft V neckline, and high-waisted black leather trousers cut slim and straight with a pressed seam down the front. Black thin-strap heeled sandals.

This is the all-black suit with the jewellery built in: the chains are on the jacket, so the rest stays plain except for the black smartwatch, the beaded bracelet and small hoops. Leather below keeps the satin honest. It goes from a meeting to a dinner in any season with a coat over it in winter, and it is the outfit to wear when the room has stairs and you intend to use them.
