Coat weather. Finally something I dress well for. An oversized charcoal wool trench with patch cargo pockets, worn open, sleeves pushed up, over black leather straight trousers and chunky lug-sole boots. Pockets this size and I still carry nothing. City in November, no bag.
An oversized charcoal wool trench with patch cargo pockets, worn open over black leather straight trousers and lug-sole boots. Coat weather, walked in.
The coat is charcoal wool felt cut like a trench and sized like a blanket: wide storm flaps, a big notched collar, dropped shoulders, sleeves pushed to the forearm and two oversized patch cargo pockets at the hip. It falls to mid-calf and is worn open, with a dark top just visible underneath. The trousers are black leather, straight through the leg with a slight break over black chunky boots with a heavy lug sole.
This is what an autumn or winter day looks like when it involves walking: across a concrete courtyard, through an airport, to an office that does not care about the boots. Everything is matte except the leather. A black smartwatch, a bead bracelet, hair down. Add a black knit when the temperature drops and leave the coat open regardless.
The pockets are big enough for both hands and one grudge.
