Buckled leather mini dress with balloon sleeves and train

The dress is black leather, fitted through the bodice and cut short, with a system of straps that cross it on the diagonal: one over the shoulder, one across the ribs, one at the hip, each closed with a silver buckle, plus an eyelet-punched belt that hangs loose down the front. One sleeve is leather, the other is black organza, both gathered into full balloons and buttoned at the cuff. A waist cut-out on the left and a long satin panel that falls from the hip to the ankle on one side finish it. Black platform boots with a heavy lug sole keep the whole thing on the ground.

It is a night-out dress, or an event dress for the kind of event that has a smoke machine. Spring and autumn; the sleeves do the work of a jacket. Hair down and straight, small hoops, nothing else, because the buckles are already the jewellery.

Six buckles is not excessive. Seven would be excessive.
