Navy peplum top with a silver drape and leather trousers

A sleeveless navy wool peplum top with a slot cut-out at the chest and a silver lamé sash draped over one shoulder, with black leather trousers.

A sleeveless top in dense navy felted wool, cut high at the neck with a horizontal slot opened across the chest and a second opening at the waist, and finished with a short peplum that stands away from the hips. Over one shoulder runs a long sash of crinkled silver lamé, caught at the opposite hip and left to hang to the knee. The trousers are black leather, slim and high-waisted, with a zip at each hem.

The lamé is the only shine; everything else is matte, which is why it works in a room with no natural light. Flat black boots or a low heel, hair down, arms out because the top is sleeveless for a reason. Autumn and all-season, a record shop on a weekday afternoon, nobody else in the aisle.

I came for one record and stayed for the lighting.
