Emerald satin slip dress under a black leather biker jacket

An emerald green satin slip dress with a draped cowl neck, thin straps and a fitted bodice that opens into a bias-cut skirt falling past the knee. Over it, a black leather biker jacket with an asymmetric zip and zipped cuffs, worn open and pushed to the elbow. Black leather ankle boots with a pointed toe and a slim stiletto heel.

Satin and leather is the pairing that always works, and the colour makes it specific: emerald is dark enough to sit next to black and bright enough to catch a lamp. Autumn and spring nights, a listening bar, a stool at the counter near the turntable. The jacket stays on; the sleeves go up so the ink shows at the wrist. No tights, a sharp boot, and the cowl left to sit where it falls.

Green satin is my idea of a quiet night. The jacket disagrees, and comes anyway.
