I wore a blazer as a top and called it restraint. Emerald satin, strong shoulders, cut open at the waist. A black satin skirt draped to one side, and black leather boots over the knee. Overdressed for the roof. Correctly dressed for me. Rooftop first, then indoors.
An emerald satin blazer with cut-outs at shoulder and waist, worn as a top over a draped black satin skirt and over-the-knee boots.
An emerald satin blazer with strong shoulders and a few things missing: a slash at each shoulder seam and a cut-out at each side of the waist, so the jacket is held together by its lapels and one closure at the front. It is worn as a top, closed at the front, sleeves pushed up to the elbow. The skirt is black satin, wrapped and draped from the waist, longer at the back and open on the left side.
Black leather boots come up over the knee and meet the hem halfway, so leather picks up where satin stops. It is an evening look for the cooler end of the year: a rooftop while there is still sun, then indoors for the rest. Keep the hair down and the hands empty.
I wore green on purpose. Someone should write that down.
