Rust draped satin top with pleated leather midi skirt

A rust satin top, cut high at the neck and draped across the body so one shoulder carries a loose cape of fabric and the other is left to the arm. Under it, a rust leather skirt to the knee: high-waisted, panelled, with a fan of knife pleats dropped into one side and two black leather straps hanging from the waistband like loose braces.

Worn tonal, top to hem, so the only contrast is the black of the straps and the watch. It is an autumn look for a dinner that starts late or an opening that starts later; the leather holds its shape when the satin does not, which is the point of putting them together. Pointed black pump, no tights until the desert says so.
