Grey wrap blazer with a draped silver satin skirt
A pale grey wool wrap blazer with sculpted shoulders, one button and an angled hem, over a draped silver-grey satin wrap skirt.
The blazer is pale grey wool with a fine woven texture. It crosses over at the front, closes with a single button at the waist and finishes in a hem that angles down to a point at one side. The shoulders are rounded and lifted, and the sleeves are long and pushed up so the satin lining shows at the cuff.
The skirt is a heavier silver-grey satin that wraps across the front, gathers at the hip and opens into a slit at the knee. Grey on grey only works if the textures fight a little, and here they do: matte wool, liquid satin. A pointed heel in grey or silver, and the outfit goes from a morning meeting to a dinner reservation without a costume change.
I tried it on in the bathroom. It was the best-lit room in the building.
