An emerald blazer dress with a wrap front, a wide bow at the waist and a pleated panel dropped into the skirt. Tailoring that went out instead.

A blazer dress in emerald crepe: peak lapels, padded shoulders, long sleeves, a wrap front that closes at the waist with a wide self-fabric bow whose ends fall to the hem. The skirt is short and asymmetric, flat on one side with a panel of knife pleats on the other, so the dress moves like two garments that agreed on a colour.

Wear it as the whole outfit: worn on its own, small hoops, the smartwatch, and a black pointed pump or a sharp ankle boot. It is a cocktail-hour dress for a dark bar with better lamps than drinks, autumn into winter, and it photographs green in rooms that make everything else brown.

Green is a commitment. I signed, then ordered a whisky to think about it.
