Two blacks. They are not the same and I can prove it. A leather biker jacket, cropped on the diagonal, zipped. Under it, a black satin skirt, wrapped and draped, with a slit above the knee. Matte, then shine. That is all the contrast I offer. Dinner, then the bar.

A black leather biker jacket that has been rethought from the waist down. The collar and the off-centre zip are where a biker keeps them, in rose-gold metal, but the body is cropped on a diagonal so one side ends at the ribs and the other drops to a point over the hip. The sleeves are full, dropped at the shoulder and pushed up. Under it, a black satin skirt wrapped and gathered at the front, with a flounce that falls from the waist and a slit that opens above the knee.

Leather on top, satin below, both black, so the only contrast is how each takes the light. It works from September on: dinner, a bar after, the walk between the two. No tights while the weather allows, boots when it stops.
