Copper. Once a year, and this is it. A copper metallic leather blazer cinched with a black leather shoulder-strap belt, a black satin top cut on the slant underneath, black wide-leg cargo trousers. Straps over the jacket, never under; I am not hiding hardware. Late, obviously.
A copper metallic leather blazer cinched with a black shoulder-strap belt, over an asymmetric satin top and textured wide-leg cargo trousers.
The blazer is copper metallic leather, cut single-breasted with a notch lapel and the sleeves pushed up to show the black satin lining. It is worn open and then pinned shut by a black leather shoulder-strap belt: two shoulder straps that meet a wide waist strap with a single buckle at the front. Underneath, a black satin top with one shoulder cut on the diagonal and a pointed hem that falls over the waistband.
The trousers are black textured wide-leg cargos, pleated from a high waist, with the pockets set low on the thigh so the leg still reads as a column. Pointed black boots underneath. It is an autumn look: the leather holds the light, the straps keep the blazer from flapping about, and the whole thing works for a gallery opening or a long dinner where nobody takes their coat off.
Copper is the only colour in the frame that did not come from rust.
