Emerald cut-out blazer over a draped satin dress
An emerald wool blazer with slash cut-outs at the shoulders and waist, worn over a draped emerald satin dress with a pleated side panel.
The blazer is emerald wool, long and single-breasted with one covered button, peak lapels and flap pockets, and it is cut open where tailoring usually is not: a slash across the top of each sleeve at the shoulder, and a second pair at the waist on either side of the button. Under it, a dress in emerald satin with a draped bodice and a skirt that wraps to one side, finished with a column of knife pleats that falls from the hip.
Tonal from lapel to hem, the blazer buttoned so the cut-outs are the only openings. It reads as office tailoring from the front and something else when an arm lifts. Autumn through spring, with a black pointed pump; a long coat over it only when the weather insists.
I read the last page first. Saves everyone time.
