Cobalt shantung jacket with a leather and chainmail skirt

A cobalt silk shantung jacket with pintucked panels and sculpted shoulders, over a patchwork mini of black leather, bronze leather and silver chainmail.

A cobalt jacket in silk shantung with the shoulders built up into points, rows of pintucks across the bodice and along the asymmetric hem, and a single hook at the waist so the fronts cross like a wrap. The skirt is pieced: a short panel of black leather with a raw edge, a strip of bronze leather, and a drop of silver chainmail that runs past the knee on one side only.

This is not a daytime outfit and does not pretend to be. Evening, an event, somewhere with concrete floors. The jacket does all the talking above the waist, so everything below is texture rather than colour. Worn with no tights and, out of frame, a plain black pointed heel. Autumn and winter nights, when a coat over the top is allowed to flatten the shoulders for the journey and nothing more.
