Tailoring, minus the jacket. The jacket was the easy part. A black leather top draped across the body with one puffed sleeve, tucked flat into charcoal wool pleated wide-leg trousers with a pressed crease. Leather does the shine. I do the posture. Pointed heel for dinner, loafer by day.
A black leather top draped across the body with one puffed sleeve, tucked into charcoal wool trousers with a pressed crease. Tailoring, minus the jacket.
The top is soft black leather, draped diagonally from a high neck on one side to an open shoulder on the other, with a single short puffed sleeve that sits like a shoulder pad. The leather has enough weight to hold the folds and enough shine to catch the sun. It is tucked flat into charcoal wool trousers: high waist, wide leg, front pleats, a sharp centre crease and no belt.
The pairing is deliberately plain. Two colours, two textures, no jewellery beyond the black smartwatch and the bead bracelet. It goes to dinner, to an office that lets leather in, or to drinks straight after, from October through April. Shoes stay hidden under the hem, so a black pointed heel or a flat loafer both work.
A leather top is a jacket that decided not to bother with sleeves.
