Black crew-neck tee with light-wash straight jeans

The tee does the work: black cotton jersey, crew neck, short sleeves cut close to the arm, ending right at a high waistband so nothing needs tucking. Under it, light-wash straight-leg jeans in a rigid denim with a faded front, sitting high on the waist and falling straight to the ankle. White leather low-top sneakers, laced and kept clean.

This is the outfit for the hours between plans: coffee at ten, errands at noon, a kerb under the palms when the shade is good. Spring and summer, warm mornings, anywhere that does not ask for a heel. The black tee keeps the tattoos framed and the jeans keep it from looking like gym clothes.

The sneakers stay white because I sit on kerbs, not in puddles.
