Black asymmetric dress with a draped satin panel and sash
Charcoal jersey, a grey satin drape, a black leather band and a sash to the floor: one dress built from four pieces of the same dark.
The body of the dress is charcoal jersey, sleeveless, with a high round neck on one side; across it runs a panel of steel-grey satin draped from the shoulder to the waist, bound by a black leather band that crosses the ribs on the diagonal. The waist is cut out on the right, the skirt is black, fitted and asymmetric, with a side slit, and a long satin sash falls from the waist seam to the ground.
It is an evening dress that behaves like separates: four textures, one colour family, nothing shiny except the satin. Wear it with a pointed black sandal and the hair down, and let the sash do the movement. Late nights in autumn and the first warm nights of spring; in winter a long black coat on top and the sash out of the hem.
Four shades of black is not indecision. It is a range.
