Linen is the only concession I make to July. An olive hopsack blazer with a rust contrast lapel and side panel, closed on its own, over matching olive linen wide-leg trousers. Flat loafer, tan or black. Rust and olive at golden hour: two colours, and I survived it. Lunch outside.
A fitted olive hopsack blazer with a rust contrast lapel and side panel, over matching wide-leg trousers, among palms at golden hour.
A blazer in olive hopsack linen, fitted through the waist with a long asymmetric front that folds across the body and finishes in an angled hem. The right lapel and the panel beneath it are cut in rust, a burnt terracotta that runs down one side like a stripe drawn with a ruler. Sleeves pushed to the forearm. The trousers match the olive, high-waisted and wide with a soft pleat, in the same dry weave.
This is a suit for warm months and long days: a morning of meetings, an airport, a lunch in the shade. Wear the blazer closed on its own, or open over a plain black tank when it gets hot. Tan or black flat loafers; a heel makes it try too hard. The rust panel is the only accessory it needs.
Palms, concrete planters, late sun through the fronds. A suit that looks like it packed itself.
