I do not do bows. Apparently I do one. An ivory crinkled satin top draped over one shoulder and folded into a bow, tucked into charcoal wool trousers with a paperbag waist, hip cut-outs, belt over the top. Same watch as always. It has seen worse. Drinks after the meeting.
An ivory crinkled satin top draped over one shoulder into a folded bow, tucked into charcoal wool trousers with a paperbag waist, D-ring belt and hip cut-outs.
The top is ivory crinkled satin, cut on the bias so it wraps the body from under one arm up to the opposite shoulder, where the fabric is gathered and folded into a stiff, sculptural bow that stands off the arm. The other side is cut away at the shoulder. It is tucked into charcoal wool trousers with a high paperbag waist, a wide self-fabric belt threaded through a double D-ring and pleats that open into a straight, wide leg. A curved cut-out sits at each hip, just below the waistband where the belt sits.
This is the daytime version of evening: an office with a view, lunch that runs long, a warm dinner where a dress would be trying too hard. Spring through early autumn, and in summer it is the whole outfit. A charcoal blazer over the top makes it a meeting; without the blazer it is the drinks after.
The bow is on the shoulder so nobody has to wear it anywhere else.

styling notes

- Charcoal blazer for the meeting, none for the drinks
- Pointed flat or a low heel; the trousers are long
