One print, every colour I usually avoid. An emerald halter swimsuit with waist cut-outs and a belt with a gold clasp. Over it, a satin kimono in green, plum and gold. I smiled in this one. Do not get used to it. Wear it on a sea wall at sunset.

The swimsuit is emerald, matte and close, with a funnel neck, deep halter armholes and a cut-out on each side of the waist. A narrow belt in the same fabric crosses the opening and fastens with a small gold clasp. Over it goes a satin kimono with wide elbow-length sleeves, printed edge to edge in bottle green, plum and old gold: scrollwork, borders, the occasional flower, all of it busy on purpose.

The trick is that the print already contains the swimsuit's green, so the two read as a set instead of an argument. Worn on a stone wall above the water in the last hour of sun, with iced tea within reach and the kimono open to the waist. Summer only. Flat sandals for the walk down, and the satin goes over a chair the moment the swimming starts.
