Emerald cut-out swimsuit under a tie-dye chiffon kimono
An emerald halter swimsuit with a front cut-out, layered under a black and white tie-dye chiffon kimono and matching wide trousers, with a black wide-brim hat.
The swimsuit is the colour and the rest is the shade: an emerald one-piece with a crossed halter neck, a front cut-out and open sides at the waist, in a matte jersey that holds its shape when wet or dry. Over it, a long open kimono in black and white tie-dye chiffon with wide sleeves, and wide-leg trousers in the same print and the same chiffon, elasticated at the waist and long enough to pool on the floor. A black straw wide-brim hat with a pale band keeps the sun off the face.
This is how to leave the pool without getting changed: the kimono and trousers go on over the swimsuit and the set walks to lunch as it is. High summer, resort terraces, desert heat. Flat sandals or nothing at all; the trousers hide either. The hat is not optional in that light.
Iced tea, no ice left. The desert wins every argument about temperature.
