Rust. Apparently I own a second colour now. A rust halter swimsuit with cut-outs at the waist, under a cream satin kimono with short, wide sleeves. That is all of it. Two pieces and I still took forty minutes. Wear it at the hottest hour, in the shade, doing nothing.

A rust one-piece with a funnel neck and a halter cut that leaves the shoulders open. Two rounded cut-outs sit at the sides of the waist, and the front between them stays narrow and plain. The fabric is matte and dense. Over it, a kimono in cream satin with short, wide sleeves, long enough to pool on the wall when sitting.

Rust is the one warm colour that does not fight with a desert; it simply joins it. The satin gives the light something to slide on and keeps the shoulders out of the sun between swims. This is for the hottest part of a summer afternoon by the pool, with iced tea and no schedule. Sandals are optional, and the kimono stays open.
